We regularly refer to these in the class.

If you haven't seen these posters in the class, or have been told about them, here are some tools we use to help discuss and understand how we conduct ourselves towards others.

THINK Poster

This poster is hanging up in the class, and is a simple way to reflect on how we treat others. It is easy to talk to kids about their actions, by asking if their actions were kind?,  or Inspiring?  It is easy to create a discussion using these points.

The Inquiry Poster

We are using this poster as a whole class tool to reflect on how we can learn together.  When the kids demonstrate skills, which help them learn cooperatively, and collaboratively, they are able to write some letter 'I's' within the big letter 'I'.   We can also earn those letters by asking questions, which in turn inspires stronger listening.  If students are able to piggy back on others ideas in a discussion then they can earn more letters.

Once they complete one big letter they receive 10 minutes of free time, or they can save the time allotments and use them all at once.  This tool is providing a way in which the class can reflect on what good learning can look like, and sound like in the class. Therefore we are focusing on positive behaviours, rather than having a list of do's and don'ts.
