During the past few weeks we have been targeting the use of icons to help identify what details and description has been included in our writing. The kids re-read through their writing and identify what type of description they have used. Once they find the description they draw a little icon. The kids are able to clearly get a picture of what description they have used, and obviously what they haven't. What they haven't used then becomes a detail they can add.
