What has been happening?

Looking back over the past few weeks, we have been busy with a variety of activities.  Chief among them was the swimming sports day.  This was exciting not just for the great swimming, but for what the weather threw at us.  It was quite interesting with rain and cascades of water under the shelters.  Once the bad weather blew over we were able to have a great sports day.

During the last week we were also busy completing an online test for science. The kids coped well, and it was a good experience for them.  Another area of activity has been our inquiry into why people move.

It was great to see that the kids were displaying new knowledge and a change in their understanding.  The little role play that we acted out demonstrated their understanding of push and pull factors, which influence why people move.  An important aspect of their learning has been practicing note taking and then recording what we now think (synthesising), as a class activity.
